Glimpse

This week was all about focusing our energy on our house and nurturing our
environment.  Shawn and I both took a day off work together and gave our home some
much needed love.  We steam cleaned our rugs, cleaned ceiling fans and windows, weeded
out our gardens, and planted new annuals.  Our back patio is now filled with mums
and pumpkins and their presence makes fall seem a little bit closer, despite the
warm temperatures.  We ran errands and refinished patio furniture, did some shopping
and cleaned our cars.  At the end of the day, it's such an amazing feeling to look around
and feel warm, clean energy flowing through your home.
Here's a glimpse of a few things that made me smile this week:
Being outdoors...
October weather means open windows, dirt on my hands, and the last of the long
summer nights.  Watching sweet Isabelle ride her Daddy's John Deer, a country girl at
heart despite her pink dress and purple Barbie heels.  She's growing into such a
beautiful, graceful young lady and her evolution is an amazing experience to witness.
Haircuts in the kitchen...
My beautiful cousin, the best hairdresser I know, came over for a visit and a fresh new
cut, making me feel beautiful and giving me a serious case of the giggles!  To make things
a little more interesting, Brees refused to be anywhere other than my lap.  We tried
bribing her with crackers and toys with absolutely no luck.  The days of sitting in a nice
salon, relaxing and getting pampered, seem like a distant memory.  These days, it's all
about homegrown haircuts in the kitchen, breastfeeding while getting a blow-out,
laughing with my sweet cousin and praying that my hair comes out in one piece.
Luckily, she's a pro.
Sweet babies trying new foods...
While making fajitas for my bottomless pit family, I fed baby Brees bits of bellpepper
and giggled as I watched her slowly, carefully test the new vegetable waters.  She is
becoming more adventurous with her food choices everyday and her appetite is insatiable.
I love the faces babies make when they try new foods...
Here's to a wonderful weekend, dear friends.
May your days be filled with love and
light and simple moments that make you smile!

Breastfeeding while getting a blow out sounds like quite the adventure LoL. And Brees is so sweet trying out the pepper! They do make the funniest expressions. I wish I had of had a camera the day I introduced my 1 year old niece to a dill pickle haha :)

Sometimes we all need to take those days to just focus on the household projects.
