November in Review

The month of November, in review...
This month we celebrated Brees's first birthday, gathering our closest friends and family
and rejoicing in this beautiful baby girl.
Isabelle and I went on a super special Mama/Daughter Date Night and spent some
well needed alone time.  I am amazed everyday by how fast this little one is growing,
how insightful and caring she is.  I want to hold onto these moments forever, especially
when she turns into a hormonal teenager and learns the fine art of
door slamming.
I had my FIRST Girls' Night Out since Brees was born!  My very best friends and I went
to the midnight premier of "Breaking Dawn" and waved our geek flags proudly.  I got
through the entire, fun-filled night with only two phone calls to check in on the girls and
NO anxiety about being away.  It was an amazing time with the best friends a girl could
ever ask for and I am so lucky to have them.
We took a nice long road trip for Thanksgiving and escaped reality for a little while.
We focused on what matters most to us: family, friends, and love.
Lots and lots of love.
In other exciting news:
The New Orleans Saints are 8-3 and currently lead the NFC South.  Behold the great
Drew Brees doing his best Superman impression.  That's right friends, I am a Twi-Hard
who is also obsessed with football.  What can I say?  I'm a pretty well rounded person.
The company I work for is growing so massively that plans are being made to expand
and open a home office 10 minutes away from our house.  I was recently offered the
position as lead field RN for this new office.  Translation: Soon, if all goes well, I will
be working even closer to home, thereby reducing the time I spend away from my
family even more.
We have been very busy packing up all of the baby toys and accessories Brees no longer
uses: her infant swing, bouncy seat, all of her baby bottles and the one million accessories
that go with them.  I felt all misty eyed as I meticulously packed and labeled each box,
pieces of her infant hood now a sweet memory.  And then Shawn walked through the
kitchen and casually said, "Make sure you wrap those up really good, babe.  That way,
when the next baby comes, it won't be such a hassle to get everything ready".
The NEXT BABY?  That man, he really knows how to capture my heart.
November,
you taught us more about simplifying life, brought us closer together as a
family, and opened our eyes to new opportunities.
It was a wonderful, memorable time.
