This weekend, we carefully unpacked our large collection of Christmas decorations and
began spreading Christmas cheer throughout our house. Nothing makes me as
sentimental and nostalgic as putting up our Christmas tree. This year, it was a freezing
cold Sunday, hot chocolate and the sounds of football wafting through the air. It was
fuzzy slippers and red beans and rice. We took our time, placing a few decorations here
and there between lounging on the couch, catching up on our reading, and visiting with
friends. Isabelle was Chief of Decorating Duties this year, taking great pride in her role
and making sure we covered every square inch of our home with all things red, green,
and sparkly. We kept the bottom half of the tree a bit sparse in anticipation of Brees
the explorer and her destructive tendencies. So far, she has only sat next to the tree,
gazing up at the twinkly lights, not touching it but taking it all in with her big brown eyes.
I love having these beautiful, special decorations all over the house. I can remember
where each piece came from: gifts from family, souvenirs from vacations, hand me
downs from my mama and grandmother. The entire house has a special glow that makes
my whole heart warm.

Precious girls. I love how you decorate your tree and the photo of you reflected in the shiny red ornament is stellar!
I love the one of Brees looking up at the tree. I love this time of year too. It's full of so much warmth and love, and food, can't forget the food!
Your house seems very cozy. I would like to come over, curl up under a blanket and read a good book in your living room. :-)
Love the love and sentiment you put into your blog. Great pics. Your 12daysofchristmas friend.
What a beautiful tree and beautiful family!! Thanks for joining this challenge - it's so much fun to see everyone's trees and hear what their traditions are. Feel free to keep linking up, too - I'll create a new blog hop for each topic. :o)
