Dear Santa

Last week, Isabelle's English teacher asked the entire class to write a short letter to
Santa describing themselves, the place they live, their favorite things, and what they
most want for Christmas.  As I cooked dinner and Brees climbed in and out of the
kitchen cabinets, Belle sat quietly at the table and wrote out her letter, stopping only to
ask me how to spell "sincerely".  She proudly slammed her pencil down when she was
done, carrying her letter over to me with a smile on her face.  "All finished, Mama.  I
really hope Santa gets this!".
As I read through her hand written letter, there was nothing I could do to keep the tears
from streaming down my face.  She gave me a big hug, grabbed a brownie from the
warming pan, and ran up to her room to finish a very important game of
Barbie School Bus.

And I just stared after her in amazement.

OMG - how sweet! I just got shivers. Thanks so much for sharing, and I'm glad that somehow in my heart I just know little Belle got a nice, long, huge bear hug for that letter. :o)
