Sweet Friday

This week has officially exhausted every part of me: I've been sick, Shawn went away
for work, and I'm on call.  What started as a simple cold erupted into a full blown
sinus infection.  Natural remedies were no longer doing the job thanks to my lack of rest
and continued exposure to every sick person in a 30 mile radius.  One antibiotic and
ten boxes of Kleenex later, I am finally starting to feel better.  I have promised myself a
nap and a long hot steam bath just as soon as this crazy work week is over.  Thankfully,
my girls have been wonderful this week, so understanding of my inability to be my
usual energetic self.  We had lots of quiet time: reading books in bed, playing Barbies in
Belle's room, and going to bed just a tad bit earlier than normal.  They showed their
loving, nurturing sides this week and cared for me when I was feeling low.  What an
amazing gift they truly are.

Brees volunteered to make me some soup, searching high and low for the
perfect can.  

Before he left on his trip, Shawn brought home soup from my favorite deli, cough drops, 
and tissues infused with aloe and lotion.  He was a bit concerned over the fact that I 
was rubbing my nose raw, after all.

Belle entertained us with stories of Ken and Barbie and their dream life together.  She told
me that she hopes to someday become a veterinarian, get married, buy a mansion
with a swimming pool, and have Shawn and I over for parties.  Dream big, baby girl,
dream big.
