A glimpse into our week so far...
The girls and I took a trip to Chuck E. Cheese for our cousin's birthday party.
Confession: attending birthday parties at ridiculously overstimulating
children's entertainment centers is one of my LEAST favorite things to do in life.
These places give me anxiety, make my children hyper and moody, and cost way too
much money. On a lighter note, the whole experience is usually over before you know
it because your brain is running in super sonic mode and you have no time to dwell on
your misery. I was able to visit with my cousins and eat chocolate cake and the girls
had a blast playing with their friends and dancing to the REALLY loud music. They both
fell asleep before we were even out of the parking lot and I rode home in complete
silence, allowing my brain the chance to recoup.
One of the many joys of parenthood...

As the school year winds down and the anticipation of summer approaches, Isabelle's
social calender is quickly filling up. She has been so busy with Girl Scout functions,
school projects, birthday parties and get togethers with friends. This week she was a
busy little bee and our time together has been limited as she floats from one activity to
the next. Luckily, I was able to take off work today and my mom and I will be going on a
field trip with Belle and her second grade class! A whole day of fun at the state park
and quality time with my oldest: what a great way to end the week!

Brees and I spent an afternoon together cooking a big dinner and catching up on
laundry. Translation: I cooked with Brees strapped to my back in her Ergo, she
unfolded each piece of laundry as I folded it, and I really didn't get anything done because
she was just so lovable and sweet and distracting. I love afternoons at home,
being domesticated and slowing down. Those are the moments worth living.

Here's to a wonderful, simple weekend hopefully spent outdoors. The azaleas are
blooming and spring is officially here in Louisiana!
