This weekend we stepped out and took my dad to lunch in honor of his birthday. Steak
and shrimp and two sweet little granddaughters: what a better way to spend a
birthday?! Isabelle wore a blazer my mother-in-law gave her for Christmas and Brees
wore her furry Minnie Mouse jacket. I was inspired by Mandy from Juggling Chic last
week and how she managed to style a short sweater. After birthing two babies, there are
just certain tops that now hit me at a very unflattering place on my hips, making me shy
away from ever wearing them. But, when layered over a button-up and adding a
funky layering twist, I suddenly was able to breath new life into my short shirt
wardrobe. And this, my friends, is one of the beautiful things about blogging:
gaining inspiration from real life women. Body issues? I have them, just like everyone
else. But then a simple idea like layering comes to mind and I suddenly feel as
beautiful as every single one of us should. Cheers to that!

you look great! i love the sweater&button down combo. i feel the same way about finding new ways to make shorter shirts work again after pregnancy... will be layering some this week, too :)
love the layered look, liv! y'all are way too cute. and aaahhh, when did brees get to gosh darn big?! stop growing up, little darlin!
You look awesome! The pants, the shoes ... I dig the button-down layered look -- it was pretty much my uniform a few years back when I lived on the East Coast. It's a nice, easy way to look polished with minimal effort, right?
Love your outfit! You pull off purple jeans so good. I was looking at a similar pair at Target (of course!).
Belle and Brees are little dolls.
You all look fab! Love those colored jeans - I might even be tempted to try the shirt/sweater look again once it cools down here :)
