Steppin' Out Saturday

Saturday we stepped out for Brees's first birthday party!!  Even though her big day is not
for another week or so, we had her party this weekend to make sure all of our favorite
people could be there with us.  It was a small, intimate affair at home with our closest
friends and family, a day filled with love, sweets, and the most precious little one year
old in bayou country.
I have a whole post devoted to Brees's special day but, for now,
here's what we wore...
Mama:
Dress and cardi: Target
Tights: Worthington
Boots: AA Western
Brees:
Top and leggings: Mudpie
Shoes: Angel
Belle:
Head to toe: Old Navy
I was inspired by this post on Momma Go Round about transitioning your
wardrobe from summer to fall.  This blue sundress was one of my favorite summer pieces
and I wore it constantly with sandals, heels, and my big floppy hat.  Pairing it with navy
tights and my cowboy boots allows me to wear this dress for many more months to
come.  Adding an empire waisted belt would have completed the look even further but
would have also made breastfeeding a serious hassle.  Sometimes, as a mama, you have
to let common sense overtake your fashion sense.
It was a wonderful day for our little tribe as we celebrated a very special year.  I look
forward to sharing a whole slew of posts in the next few weeks about the many ways
Brees has blessed our lives...

What a beautiful family! Happy Birthday to your little one. While I love all that Fall offers for ones wardrobe, I find the Summer to Fall transition one of the most difficult. Love what you paired together. So cute. (stopped over from FTLOB comment Love day)
