We welcomed our precious son, River Scott, into our lives on Thursday afternoon. His birth was as beautiful and amazing as I had expected while being absolutely everything I had NOT prepared for. He has captured our hearts, replenished our souls, and changed everything while simultaneously feeling like he's always been here. I can not wait to share more about this incredible boy but, until then, thank you again for the overwhelming amount of love and support you continue to show our family. We are so truly blessed.

I love him. I love how chubby his cheeks already are. His squishiness. His yawn! Oh my goodness - you produce perfect babies. Get yourself a trophy.
Also, the name? I LOVE IT. Joaquin is on my list of boy names, which would make our boys (if I have another boy) like brothers from different mothers (but with much happier and positive life outcomes than the Phoenix boys).
And because I am hopelessly competitive and pathetic, I just read your last few pages of posts until I found where we all submitted guesses on his weight. I was convinced that I'd guessed correctly, but was a bit off - I guessed 9lb.5oz. (there were some others that were really close too).
He is a beautiful baby. Seriously, those cheeks. I totally see Brees. Welcome, River!
