Things I am loving this week:
1. Getting ready for another school year
Isabelle and I have been working feverishly to get everything ready for the start
of second grade. A fresh new haircut, the perfect backpack with a matching thermos,
uniforms neatly pressed and folded, and, most importantly to Belle, a cool new pair of
kicks. We went on three separate shopping trips and countless stores before settling on a
pair of sneakers that were both within her private school dress code rules and also
agreed with her very particular taste {Her teenage years are going to be hell}. She is now
all packed and ready for her big day on Monday.
I feel the lump in my throat forming already...

2. Teething tools
Brees is the proud young recipient of her EIGHTH tooth this week. Yes, our 8 month
old baby has 8 teeth. Woozers! She is taking it like a champ, though, and only had two
days of being under the weather before bouncing back to her sweet little self. Her
Razbaby Razberry teether is her BFF these days. She carries it with her
everywhere, chomping on this textured toy like there's no tomorrow. It brings her sore
gums relief and we are grateful considering we have crammed a year's worth of teething
into two months!

3. New routine
Since starting my new job a few weeks ago as a home health nurse, we've been through a
lot of adjustments in our house. I am now working 5 days a week vs. 3, but my hours are
so wonderful! We are settling into a nice new routine and I am loving getting home at 3
every afternoon, having more time with my family, being able to keep up with things
around the house. We definitely have a few kinks left to figure out, but we are getting
there, one day at a time.

4. The foundation
After all is said and done, my heart is so happy to share simple moments such as these
with my soul one. We are living very busy lives, giving and working and not taking a lot
of time for ourselves. So, Shawn and I really do treasure every moment we have to just
be US. Not Mom and Dad, just Shawn and Liv. Curled up on the couch,
watching SportsCenter, talking about the new Chili Peppers single,
just Shawn and Liv.

I also LOVED reading everyone's BlogHer posts this week! I have big dreams of
someday venturing out to this big, fun, crazy meeting of the blogger minds, 2012 in
New York maybe? For now, though, I am living vicariously through posts
such as these: one, two, three, and four!

owsley doesn't have any teeth yet. hah! i guess on their first date, brees can have the steak, and owsley will stick with the mashed potatoes. ;-)
i've been living vicariously through the blogher posts as well. i don't know if i'd ever want to really go though. i'm sure i'd feel a little intimidated.
you (& ahem, deanna!) simply must come to blogher '12. i was intimidated and overwhelmed, but it was absolutely worth it. i am pinching all my pennies for the next year so i can make the trip. also, i am a reallyreally good roommate, promise ;)
blogher aside, this post made me so nostalgic for back-to-school time! getting new shoes every august was one of my favorite parts of the year as a kid. miss isabelle is so sweet with all her new loot!
Brees is SO CUTE! I love her little teether!
Isabelle looks so ready for school - I remember those days. How exciting!
I'd feel less intimidated to go to blogher if you were there. ha. :)
I'm glad things are going well with the new job, even with the kinks to work out. A "regular" schedule can be such a nice change. E used to work crazy hours, and things are so much better now that he works a sort of 9-5 type job.
I can't believe it's almost schooltime! Hard to believe. And moments with your soulmate are the best :)
Wow - 8 teeth! Go Brees!
Talking about getting Isabelle ready for school brought me down memory lane. I can totally remember how important all that stuff was!
What a great post! Wish my little guy would use a teether... he is just a fuss butt and nothing makes him happy during that time :/
What a cute teething thing! :) Beautiful babies!
oh my gosh! i can't wait to buy school supplies for parker that will be soooo fun!! i'm jealous :)
and yes, i'm totally holding out for NYC '12. yayy!
WOW. I was just reading through old posts of mine and you had commented and I just found your blog! Stupid stupid me! Your girls are so adorable!!! And yes, you need to go to Blogher because I'm planning on going next year too!! lol I'm your newest follower!!

What a cute back pack! My little girl was so picky this year about her shoes too! Hope the first day went great!
Isabelle has the most gorgeous head of hair. At least in the dirty depths of her teenage years, you likely won't have too many bad hair days to deal with. And that raspberry teething thingy looks cool (can you tell I am not a mom haha), I will have to mention it to my sister, my niece is getting/growing/whatever you call it teeth now.
